Access to Knowledge and Freedom of Expression
Consumer International has been holding a series of regional meetings for Access to Knowledge (A2K) advocates and practitioners. We participated in the meeting in Latin America in March 2009 to make links between the human rights and A2K communities. Despite using different language to frame concepts, the objectives of the two movements overlap considerably. There is scope for better coordination between the two, and for more exploration of potential for A2K activists to use the human rights framework as a lever for change. Click on the link below for an outline of the discussions and ideas that came out of the meeting.
